August New Release–Susan Longman

Susan Longman has created this lovely layout using our New Release …bird on a flourish called “Cute Birdy on Branch (WOW1589)”. She has altered the chip by spritzing it with mist and then using a Signo White gel pen has added a little detail with some line and dots.

New Release for August–--San Staples

Hi fellow Crafters! it’s San here…

Here's my New Releases for August...Hope you like what I have done with them, pop into your LSS and grab yourself some of them!

This first layout is Ali....twirling and dancing on Christmas Day. The New Release is this cute little circle flourish frame. I have enhanced the chipboard with paint and then crystalina kindyglitz. Looks pretty and shiny. I have also added a filigree butterfly by WOW and used the same technique on it

My next New Release for August is the Clock with Roman Numerals, this one is made in mdf, WOW can make all their products in mdf, raw chipboard or the ebony cut....so mix it up on your pages!

This is a page of some of the fun stuff that Tom did at his first ever Royal Easter Show this year. I left the mdf raw....its my favourite non-treatment for mdf!...I like the burnt look.

New releases for August - Lisa Warren

Hi All! Lisa here...and this month I have two new products to share with you!  First up, this gorgeous little bird cage.

 

New Release WOW1590 Bird Cage

 

To alter the birdcage, I first covered the base in coloured markers, then added two shades of glitter...rose pink and gold. The bird was coated in magenta glitter. I then added layers of lace to bottom of the cage and finished off the piece with an adhesive pearl flourish.

 

August also sees the release of WOW's flourishy circle frame! This frame is so gorgeous, I wanted to make it a feature, and the frame itself is the perfect size to house a title.  I have kept the chipboard raw to suit my neutral coloured layout...sometimes you just need to keep it simple.

I have layered the frame over the top of a crocheted doily, then adhered the title to the top.  Twine tied around the chipboard and a cluster of embellishments completes this layout.

Look What’s *NEW*- -- Kerryn Fry

Hi! Kerryn here to share my first official WOW post and showcase two of the August's new chipboard releases.

I was thrilled to receive a delicate 51/2" x 51/2" square frame which I have covered with black ink as a base and then used a clear embossing powder, glitter and a heat gun to put a raised, glittery finish to it.

Here is another new piece, a gorgeous 111/2" x 111/2" square frame. I have applied a coat of white gesso and then I've sprayed the frame with a few layers of two different sprays, Christmas Glimmer Mist and Mister Hueys Hot Dog. Once the frame was dry to touch, I randomly swiped Brilliance Ink in Blue and Gold. The Final layer was applying Glossy Accents to the entire frame while it was still drying which allowed the colours to blend together.

I like it in the raw!

Chipboard is so versatile...and the WOW design team have shown you so many ways to treat the chipboard pieces...however, left in it's natural state, it's just as beautiful. Raw chipboard acts as a neutral for your layouts, and can add a real masculine feel.

For this layout, I have added three different pieces of chipboard. Each piece has been left raw, and clustered together with other elements. By leaving each one raw, and placing them in a triangular formation, I have created balance on the layout.

 Here's a few close ups...the two frames are brand spanking new and will be available for sale soon!!

Whilst you've got your supplies out...why not whip up a card!  I love WOW's banner borders, and with just a touch of doodling, and some twine across the top, they don't need any further dressing up!

The next time you decide to add chipboard to your projects, why not consider leaving it raw!

Product spotlight | Precut chipboard titles...

How many times have you created a layout, and had no idea what to call it?  It's a common occurrence at out local crop night and we all put our heads together to come up with the perfect title for the struggling scrapper.  Words or Whatever can solve that problem! WOW cuts a huge range of precut chipboard titles that will end that burden once and for all!  You can use them as is, alter them, or add them to sticker lettering to create a brand new and unique title.

For this layout, I have used a chipboard title that is designed for use at Easter time. By removing the Easter eggs that were attached, I have been able to repurpose the piece for a layout inspired by a cooking session!

The chipboard title has been coated in brown marker, then each letter highlighted with white gel pen.  A glaze over the top gives it a nice, shiny appearance.  The bracket bookplate has been given the same treatment.
