My Final Design Team Post by Sue Smith

After 3 years of being on this wonderful Design Team, I have decided call it quits. I seem to get little time or inspiration to scrap these days, and besides it will be good to see some fresh new enthusiastic faces keep this awesome Team alive and well.

Going on a retreat recently was a good chance to at least get some layouts done for my last post.

This first one is a sketch challenge at the Kraft Plus Challenge blog....

I have used the 'Pictures Of You' title coloured white with a Posca pen and then topped with clear plus sprinkles of yellow embossing powder....

Next up a layout of my cute kitty snuggling companion, Dash...

I have used the 'Today' title from the Pack of 10 coloured with Smooch Ink, one of my favourite products to use on my WOW chippy.....

I love this next layout of my daughter and her then fiance in Japan where I 'painted' the background with Glimmer Mist....

I 'Smooched' this gorgeous 'Messy Square Frame' and decorated it with a small piece cut from 'Blossom Branch' and coloured in the detail......

My final share with you is this layout of my sister's granddaughter, Tayla.....

For the background, I have used one of my all-time favourite AltaMATZ 12x12 'Acid Burn' and finished off with one of the 'Messy Arrow Frames'....

Well, that's it....my last post. And now I'm sad. I want to thank all the other Design Team members that I have worked with over the years. I feel privileged to call you all friends. Thank you Suzanne for your generosity and your wonderful product line. Thank you also for being patient with me when I couldn't contribute because of illness.

To the incoming new Design Team members....congratulations on your appointment, and hope you enjoy your time on this talented team as much as I have.

Step By Step By Tracey Henly.

By Tracey Henly

I started my layout on a piece of Kraft card stock, I painted from the centre brushing upwards and downwards, randomly not total coverage, with clear gesso.
I did this to get better drippage, (spell check doesn't think this is a word PFTTT), with the spray.
Pool your colour of choice across the middle of your layout and then rock it up an down to get the spray to run.
Set aside to dry or use a heat gun if you are inpatient.

Take your chipboard piece, in this case wings, and apply a coat of Tim Holtz crackle paint.
Let it dry naturally.

On your dry background put some pencil marks where your photo and frame are going to sit.
This gives you a guide as to where your next lot of background layers are going to go.

Next I took a template, some clear embossing ink in a dauber, and three embossing powder colours.
Using one colour at a time, I inked some circles through the template then added a colour, shook off the excess, then heat set it.
You can put as many circles as you like.

I used Aged gold embossing powder on the chipboard flourishes above and below the frame.

Back to the wings, I learnt this technique from a You tube tutorial. The lovely scrap booker sharing it I cannot remember her name, sorry. She came across it by mistake but loved the effect and shared it. It makes the cracks really big in the paint.
So what you do it cover your dried crackle paint with dimensional magic or glossy accents and let dry again.

Once it is dry you apply another coat of your crackle paint and sit back and watch the magic.

When these are dry attach them to your layout and add your finishing touches, some seed beads to the frame and chipboard butterfly using glossy accents.
Sequins to the back ground again I use glossy accents.
I used the background spray on the title letters.
And of cause some flowers.

Thanks for looking

Monday Inspiration with Kerryn

Well good morning WOW fans!
It's Kerryn here and today it's my turn to inspire and intrigue :)

I have been busy creating with this month's new releases and as always, just having a ball.
So I have a few of my projects to share with you.

This first page I think is my favourite out of these projects and strangely enough, it actually has me in it!! The July school holidays seen us take a family trip to the snow and as you will see, it was a load of fun.
Featured on the page are the chipboard pieces Winter covered with Distress Paints, Stickles and a thick coat of Glossy Accents and the Britney Flourish simply painted.

Surprisingly and possible a world record, I actually feature in the next page too!
Wonders will never cease.
Selfie photos taken from a girly trip to Sydney with my big Sis and Mum early this year.
Chipboard pieces featured on this page are the title A Moment to treasure, covered with Distress Paint, stamped with gold Brilliance Ink and finished with the old Glossy Accents.

The chipboard Dream Catcher was the perfect addition to the paper collection used on this page, painted pink and used as a background to the paper embellishment.

The Dragon Fly has been painted, glittered and glossed

The final page is capturing my beautiful niece remembering the ANZAC's, so proud of her being chosen to place the hand-made wreath at the memorial for her class.

Featured pieces are the Wood Veneer 100 years of ANZAC covered with gold ink, the poppy from the Anzac Pack and poppies from the Anzac Day with Soldier. The poppies were painted red, outlined with black pen and then finished with Glossy Accents.
