Wild Daisies - By Elisa Ablett

Hi WOW friends,

Elisa here from the design team again sharing a layout I created called - Beautiful - featuring one of my photos of beautiful native daisies:

WOW Words or Whatever Products used:

Beautiful title chipboard
Bouquet Chipboard
Flourish Altamatz
Floral scroll chipboard

Here are some close ups and you can definitely see the amazing shine and shimmer of the Colour Blast Australia Products on the WOW Chipboard.

In this layout I used the flourish altamatz and Colour Blast 'apple of my eye' paste to create the start of my mixed media background. I also used the 'Bling' Colour Blast Spray to create a second colour over the paste. I embossed the centres of the flowers with bling embossing powder and filled in a few spaces with a Kaszazz Morrocan background stamp. Some of the techniques I used on the chipboard include white sharpie paint pen on the flowers and title and embossing. So versatile that chipboard!!

A hint: I delved into my old rub-on stash and pulled out a few from Cherry Arte and I used them in strategic places to fill in a few gaps, a fantastic way to use a product that perhaps has been laying around for a while..

Well thank you so much for stopping by, we love to hear from you in the comments, you can further follow me via Elisa's Blog, Facebook, Instagram

Thursday Tute with Tracey Henly

We are working with Prima butterfly papers on this layout.

3 x white paper flowers
heidi swapp raspberry colour spray
large and small retro flower punch
stampendous aged rose embossing powder
clear embossing ink
distress ink tim holtz aged mahagony
stickles fruit punch.

Spray your large square frame with the raspberry spray and set aside to dry.

Heat emboss the butterfly heart and border with the aged rose embossing powder.

Heat emboss your title of choice in aged gold embossing powder.

I have fussy cut out some of the graphics from this paper range to use as accents. eg. the fairy and the butterflies.

cut your mats for the photo one 7x6, one 7 x5, one 5 x 8. pick the colours that suit your photo as they are double sided.

layer your pieces and mat your photo, raise your photo with foam tape or chipboard scraps.

with your scrap papers punch 1 large retro flower  and 4 small. Assemble flowers using bling brads for the centres.

assemble all your accents to your liking. I added stickles to the flowers to give a liitle more sparkle.

Have fun creating.

Here are couple of recent layouts I have done as classes at Pages2scrap.

If you are in the area come and see me.

Don't forget our monthly challenge there are prizes to be won.

Layout Tutorial - The Perfect Summer Day

Hi WOW friends,

Its Elisa here again with my latest share on the blog, a layout I created with lots of gorgeous WOW products which can be viewed on the WOW Website and a bit of bling and I know we all like a little bit of bling.... Right???

Plus I felt the need to use my favourite colour combo.... teal, gold and sepia.

So to start with I painted a thin layer of gesso on my page so that the cardstock can cope with the weight of my layering. Then I used a gorgeous 12x12 Altamatz called ALTA247-Netting with modelling paste and palette knife, waited for it to dry and stuck on my chipboard pieces - Sea Shell Pack , and whirlicious flourishes and medical gauze as you can see in the photo below. I covered all my layers with a coat of gesso.

I then started to add my colour with Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays (once the page was wet with spray I tilted the page back and forth to create drips). Once dry I added an extra layer over the top with Colour Blast paste through a Altamatz - 12x12 Mixed Background producing those lovely lines and bubbles. Colour Blast products produce such gorgeous shine!! After another marathon drying session ;-) I stamped with a sepia versafine ink with a sea bubbles background stamp from Indigo Blu, it happens to be one of my fav's and added some 'Bling' Colour Blast Spray by dipping a fan brush in the spray bottle and flicking it onto my page.

I also embossed a couple of square chipboard pieces - square frames in a gold tone embossing powder - I made sure that it was not a smooth coverage of embossing powder that it had a rough pitted look to it as I sprayed with a teal coloured shimmer spray over the top, this looks amazing....the teal colour lodges in the grooves and rough edges giving the embossed chipboard a two toned metallic effect, another great way to add colour and shine to your chipboard.

In this photo you can see the stamped sea bubbles but also the finished effect of the square frames and the added title - Wood Veneer - The Perfect Summer Day and a few real sea shells my sons have collected from our local beach.

Love that teal and gold shine on the chipboard and wood veneer, looks amazing.

Don't forget a couple of gold shimmer spray splashes to finish it off!!

Medical Gauze is a very cheap way and versatile way to add layers to a mixed media project. It can be dyed, painted, sprayed and it can also handle texture paste and heavy layers.

Well that's it for me today, thank you for popping by the blog and I hope that you enjoyed the tutorial. Remember to jump on over to the WOW Creations facebook page and share your creations with us.

Elisa Ablett :-)

I thought to finish I would share a sneak peek of my next WOW creation, due on the facebook page in the next week .... hope to see you over there.

A share, and sadly, a goodbye :(

Hello everyone!
Sandra Wallace here with you today.

As the  title suggests, this will be a post where I share some of my recent layouts using some fantastic WOW products and, sadly, be saying a farewell to you all as a WOW DT member.
Life is getting a little bit chaotic at the moment (you know how it is)  and I feel quite sad to be leaving the DT after such a short time.
A big thank you to Suzanne, Tracey and the rest of the amazing WOW DT.
I was made to feel very welcome and loved being part of the team.
I still have a LOT of WOW products in my stash (Suzanne is VERY generous to us girls) so I am sure you will see me popping in to the
WOW Creations Facebook Group quite regularly as I share any new creations using WOW ;-)

My first share is my layout using the current January Challenge as inspiration.
I loved the yellow, orange and pink hues.
I used
The Decorative Circle Frame
Leaf Pack 2
Tribal arrows
and the altamatz in the background is the 12 x 12 4in1 design

I spray painted the chipboard with matte white spray paint (so quick! and gives great coverage)

***Removed for Publication****

and here is the challenge that the clever
Tanya Froud came up with.. hope you can  play along!

My second share is of the layout I did for the December "Wanderlust" Challenge over at Kraft Plus Challenges
I used the WOW World Globe
I simply painted the globe and house black and then swiped them with a bit of gold ink.

My last share is of the layout I created for Kraft Plus January challenge (as you can see, not much happening production-wise in my scrap room)

For this layout I used
the bottom bit of the
Straight Picket Fence
Tribal arrows
Cogs
and the 12x12 4in 1 design Altamatz.
I altered the chipboard by painting them white and then "dabbing" them with texture paste, paint and black flecks of paint.

Well, that's it I suppose.
Although my stint with WOW was brief I really enjoyed my time with WOW.

Thanks again everyone .. and see you over at
WOW Creations!

Take care of you

Sandra Wallace.

Almost a Teenager

Hello folks, hoping you are all well.
Peg here to share some WoW goodness today.
I have done a boy page using some new release chippies for November as well as some tried and true favourites.

I started by misting my white card using the 12x12 Moroccan chipboard as a stencil, rotating it clockwise for the second colour. This is also available as a stencil and both in 6x6 too.

I then stuck some cogs, from the 12x12 nesting set, in the corners and added some leftover cut-outs from the Moroccan chippy (these are a bit of a special treat as they are not yet stocked in the shop). I rubbed all the chippy with some Inka Gold- Graphite to give it a metallic look.

It didn't look quite right though, so I used a paint dauber to add some blue.

Next I layered some tissue paper, some New Release chipboard treated with Inka Gold-Graphite, my photo, and a title from my own design range painted to match the cogs. Journalling with Dymo - my fave.

And I thought it was finished so it went on my desk-top easel until I had time to get it into an album.
However..... the more I looked at it the more unfinished it appeared.

So I added some subtle diagonal stripes by sponging
black ink through the 4-in-1 Design 2 Altamatz, as well as adding a swirl border, from the New Release summer pack,
above my title.
Ahhhhh, now it's done!

So, have you checked out our inaugural monthly challenge, it's a beauty. You still have a few days to play along, anything goes as long as you use Wow products and post your creation on our FB page.
This is the page I created for it.

Thanks for coming by, have fun with the challenge, see you next time

A Perfect Page....

I had the most amazing time hanging out with these gals at a Hunter Valley retreat in August. We laughed and cried and shared so many stories and poignant moments that it was hard to do it justice on a scrapbook layout. I spent longer than I normally would on this page and, to me, it shows.

I used a technique on the background learnt from the gorgeous Naomi Cox, with some added stencil work using my new release Boot Stencil and another current fave, Lighthouse Flourish.
The page is also embellished with these chippies - cogs, barbed wire, love this, mini people, a zig-zag arrow, some Prima doodads, a cut file, and Dymo for the captions. I used American Crafts foam words for the title and typed out a long and heartfelt story which is hidden in the envelope.

I poured my heart and soul into this page and I love it so much because it really does completely and perfectly represent my experience at this retreat.
This, to me, is why I scrapbook.

I hope you find some inspiration in this post and have some awesome fun playing with your WoW products. Please come and share your work with us in our new Facebook Group, we love to see what you're creating with WoW!

Thanks for coming by

A week of WOW with Tarrah.....Precious Memories..

Hi everyone,
It's Tarrah here with you today for my first proper blog post sharing a layout I created using some of my favourite WOW pieces!! This layout is also my Creative Team sample for the September White With 1 challenge.

WOW products used:
Memories Word (Custom cut for Scrapbooking from Scratch)
Mini Speech Bubbles

To achieve a look like this, I will show you a few of my creating steps...
Choose your desired WOW 6 x 6 Altamatz stencil/mask and apply some texture paste fairly liberally over the mask....

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to speed up the drying process, then apply a few squirts of your chosen mist, once dry, start embellishing using your favourite WOW chipboard, in my example I have left the Chloe Flourish chipboard in its raw state.....

Choose a paper doily to cover some
of the mist and masked area...

I have layered two of the exact same
photo on top of each other, I added a Maya Road
flower, a flair button and a journal card.
On the WOW custom made Memories word,
I applied texture paste and some mist also.

I have a few more layouts to share with you through the week so be sure to stop by again on Tuesday for another WOW layout share by me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today...
Tarrah :)

Words or Whatever Week with Gini

Hi, it's Gini and this week, I will be sharing some creations here at the Words or Whatever Blog.  Up first is this mixed media card.
I used one of the WOW AltaMATZ templates (Doily).  I traced around the entire design using a Aquarelle pencil, and then inked around the outside.  I misted this with water, so that the pencil would disperse.
I took the chipboard gate - painted it with Gesso, then inked it with a dark brown pigment ink, and added some glitter.  The Imagine title was inked to color it, and then I rubbed a little bit of Metallic 3D paint over it.
Supplies
Words or Whatever: 6x6 AltaMatz Doily ALTA033; Imagine Dream Believe WOW1450; Ornamental Gate WOW991
Kaisercraft: Patterned Paper, flowers
Cheery Lynn Designs: Princess Tree die
Hampton Art background stamps
Clearsnap Ink
Xyron Mega Runner

Product feature | AltaMATZ Clouds

Hi All! Lisa Warren here...and I'll be hosting the WOW blog this week, where I'll be showcasing a few of my favourite WOW products.  Today's product...the gorgeous Cloud AltaMATZ.

AltaMATZ are made from a heavy duty acrylic, that you can use to create designs on your layouts using your favourite medium...inks, chalks, paints, mists, pens and more!  For this layout, I have created a soft cloud background using my favourite ink colour...umber.  I have applied the ink through the AltaMATZ using a dabber...pushing more ink into the top portion of the clouds, feathering it out towards the bottom.

I have also included one of the acrylic clouds as a part of an embellishment cluster to replicate the inked versions.

To add more interest to the bottom of my layout, I have adhered the "Sandra" flourish directly onto my photo, together with some Heidi Swapp word stickers.  The flourish has been trimmed in half and left raw.  Leaving the chipboard raw allows the other colours in my layout to pop! The other half of the flourish has been saved for a future layout...doubling the value I've gotten out of my chipboard.

WOW products used
AltaMATZ 12x12 Clouds | ALTA026
Sandra Flourish | C1492
