Thursday Tute with Tracey Henly

We are working with Prima butterfly papers on this layout.

3 x white paper flowers
heidi swapp raspberry colour spray
large and small retro flower punch
stampendous aged rose embossing powder
clear embossing ink
distress ink tim holtz aged mahagony
stickles fruit punch.

Spray your large square frame with the raspberry spray and set aside to dry.

Heat emboss the butterfly heart and border with the aged rose embossing powder.

Heat emboss your title of choice in aged gold embossing powder.

I have fussy cut out some of the graphics from this paper range to use as accents. eg. the fairy and the butterflies.

cut your mats for the photo one 7x6, one 7 x5, one 5 x 8. pick the colours that suit your photo as they are double sided.

layer your pieces and mat your photo, raise your photo with foam tape or chipboard scraps.

with your scrap papers punch 1 large retro flower  and 4 small. Assemble flowers using bling brads for the centres.

assemble all your accents to your liking. I added stickles to the flowers to give a liitle more sparkle.

Have fun creating.

Here are couple of recent layouts I have done as classes at Pages2scrap.

Layout Tutorial - The Perfect Summer Day

Hi WOW friends,

Its Elisa here again with my latest share on the blog, a layout I created with lots of gorgeous WOW products which can be viewed on the WOW Website and a bit of bling and I know we all like a little bit of bling.... Right???

Plus I felt the need to use my favourite colour combo.... teal, gold and sepia.

So to start with I painted a thin layer of gesso on my page so that the cardstock can cope with the weight of my layering. Then I used a gorgeous 12x12 Altamatz called ALTA247-Netting with modelling paste and palette knife, waited for it to dry and stuck on my chipboard pieces - Sea Shell Pack , and whirlicious flourishes and medical gauze as you can see in the photo below. I covered all my layers with a coat of gesso.

I then started to add my colour with Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays (once the page was wet with spray I tilted the page back and forth to create drips). Once dry I added an extra layer over the top with Colour Blast paste through a Altamatz - 12x12 Mixed Background producing those lovely lines and bubbles. Colour Blast products produce such gorgeous shine!! After another marathon drying session ;-) I stamped with a sepia versafine ink with a sea bubbles background stamp from Indigo Blu, it happens to be one of my fav's and added some 'Bling' Colour Blast Spray by dipping a fan brush in the spray bottle and flicking it onto my page.

I also embossed a couple of square chipboard pieces - square frames in a gold tone embossing powder - I made sure that it was not a smooth coverage of embossing powder that it had a rough pitted look to it as I sprayed with a teal coloured shimmer spray over the top, this looks amazing....the teal colour lodges in the grooves and rough edges giving the embossed chipboard a two toned metallic effect, another great way to add colour and shine to your chipboard.

In this photo you can see the stamped sea bubbles but also the finished effect of the square frames and the added title - Wood Veneer - The Perfect Summer Day and a few real sea shells my sons have collected from our local beach.

Love that teal and gold shine on the chipboard and wood veneer, looks amazing.

Don't forget a couple of gold shimmer spray splashes to finish it off!!

Medical Gauze is a very cheap way and versatile way to add layers to a mixed media project. It can be dyed, painted, sprayed and it can also handle texture paste and heavy layers.

Well that's it for me today, thank you for popping by the blog and I hope that you enjoyed the tutorial. Remember to jump on over to the WOW Creations facebook page and share your creations with us.

Chipboard Embossing!

Hi, It's Gilly here.
I was having a play the other day and wanted to add texture to a chipboard flourish, when I remembered about my Cuttlebug machine which was sitting under it's handmade owl cover.
I sprayed the chipboard flourish first with a pink mist, then I placed the flourish into the Swiss dot embossing folder and ran it through the machine.
This works well with damp chipboard .
When the Flourish was dry, I used Liquid Pearls on every dot from the embossing folder, so in the end I didn't use the embossing to add texture but really, but as an template for the placements of the liquid pearls.

Thanks Gilly oxo
