Kerryn's Back Today - YUM!

Welcome back to the blog!

It's Kerryn here again with more WOW goodness to share with you.
Back to scrapping my gorgeous boy! This is a page I created at the Savvy Delights Retreat back in September. Boy that time has flown by.

I have used the Large Cog Corners to frame a photo of my gorgeous little man. He looks so small!
The Cog Corners were randomly inked using coordinating distress ink and Metallic Rub colours. Once I was happy with the highlights, I gave each corner a good coat of Dimensional magic and then set them aside to dry under a table away from any accidents.

A day with Kerryn - Discover

Evening WOW fans, Kerryn here to fill in a few gaps this week on the blog.

I am sharing a page with you today that I created using the October 1st Stuck?! Sketch.

It's not often that I create girly pages, but when I do, I love to add a bit of bling.
For this page I have used the new Wood Veneer title Discover and a few butterflies from the wood veneer Mini Butterflies pack, they were all covered in diamond Stickles to produce that sparkle.
Love how the sun reflects of the Stickles!!

Here is the finished page of my very sweet great niece hiding under the apricot tree at her house. The title was the perfect addition.

I will be back tomorrow afternoon to share more inspiration with you, hope you will join me.

Tess's Week - 'Beautiful'

Tess back again with a sneaky Saturday share.... With all of the yummy new release items set to go live, I thought I would break the rules again and share one that is in that release. I had amazing fun with this layout and have been hanging to share it since retreat.

Beautiful
Using new release chipboard 'Beautiful', chipboard Narrow Arrow Pack (WOW1893) and chipboard Feather from Feather Set (WOW1562)

Lets start with the new release word 'Beautiful'. I have covered it in a layer of white Gesso and dried it. This will prime the surface and make it white.

I have then used the same paint that I used on the splats to tie the same red through into the layout.

If you haven't used Gesso before, it is a paint like product that simply puts a base onto the product you are using.

The chipboard arrows have been coloured with a black sharpie marker.

The chipboard feather has been coloured in with a while gel journal pen. I find that there is an angle to hold the pen at where it will put lines into the coating and make it look like a real feather - it gives it texture.

I hope you are ready for tomorrow with the amazing new release due to go live. I know you wont be disappointed by this one. There are things in there for everyone and if you are half as excited about this release as our design team, you will love what is coming your way!!

Tess's Week - Tim Holtz OTP

Good morning world of WOW, Tess back again with something a bit different today. I bought this Tim Holtz alarm clock shell a while ago and had all of these great ideas with what I could do with it. I wanted something a bit vintage and pretty.
And can I say, I had a ball putting this project together.

This is just to remind you that the Words or Whatever products don't have to be used on scrapbook layouts or cards only!

OTP Alarm Clock
Using chipboard Butterfly and Chicken Wire Small (WOW1767)

I knew straight away which piece of chipboard I wanted to use and it fitted the feel of the project perfectly. To colour it, I have used a Vintage Photo ink and sponged it onto the piece. I have then cut it up to fit into the clock face. The biggest bit is on top of the flower, but there are also pieces layered under the flower to give it depth and then the butterfly on the top of the frame.

Thanks for calling past. I do have another share tomorrow you might want to call back for.... Its a sneak peek of one of the new release items!

Tess's Week - 'The Hearts of San Francisco'

Tess back again with another quick share. This one is using my staple wood veneer item - narrow arrows. I love these items and they are easy to incorporate into just about any layout (and I usually find this is just what the layout needs if I feel there is something missing).

The Hearts of San Francisco
Using light wood veneer Narrow Arrow Pack (WV018)

The best thing about this arrow pack is that some of them aren't traditional arrows such as these ones with the hearts on the end. This makes them easy to add to a theme such as this page.

To make them match the layout I have coloured them in with a sharpie marker. As simple as that! The light wood veneer takes the colour so well and the darker colour markers come out an accurate colour which is pretty important when you are trying to match them in with a layout design.

As I talk about these arrows all the time, here is what the pack looks like.

If you are looking for these products, contact your local scrap store or even online store. If they don't stock Words or Whatever, please ask them to order some in for you.

Tess's Week - 'She is Ours'

Tess back again today with another layout to share using the gorgeous Words or Whatever products. Today I have another idea for altering your chipboard.

She is Ours
Using chipboard flourish from Mini Flourish Pack (WOW1837) and chipboard Flourish Tag (WOW1307)

Todays layout is using good old traditional chipboard. Like many people I am not a big fan of the plain old grey that the chipboard comes in. Its hard to alter with mists as it soaks into the chippy and the colours don't come out vibrant or the exact colour.

To combat this I have been using white Gesso to 'prime' the chipboard and give it a white base prior to altering it.

When I coated this one I was looking for an uneven look on the chipboard to give it some extra character (which is exactly what I got). The mist has still soaked through a little, but the colour of the mist is accurate to what comes from the bottle.

Thanks for calling past again today. I will have another share for you tomorrow.
