Chipboard Embossing!

Hi, It's Gilly here.
I was having a play the other day and wanted to add texture to a chipboard flourish, when I remembered about my Cuttlebug machine which was sitting under it's handmade owl cover.
I sprayed the chipboard flourish first with a pink mist, then I placed the flourish into the Swiss dot embossing folder and ran it through the machine.
This works well with damp chipboard .
When the Flourish was dry, I used Liquid Pearls on every dot from the embossing folder, so in the end I didn't use the embossing to add texture but really, but as an template for the placements of the liquid pearls.

Thanks Gilly oxo

I have been having fun............

with WOW chippie again :)

It's Kellie here today, back with another layout to share with you all.

I have used 2 pieces of WOW chippy, but on my page it looks like 4- I simply cut the title "Photos of You" (C785) into 3 pieces so I could place around my photos. I also used a "Circle Frame" C1254.

Here are some close-ups...
On my title piece I used paint then a black marker to outline.........

then on the circle frame I used brown ink...

And here is my finished page...............

I hope I have inspired you to get your WOW chipboard out and have a play. The blog is continually updated so make sure you check back regularly :)

Till next time

Kel :)

Lisa has created this gorgeous festive layout using “Ornamental circle bird frame RWL100011”

Here is what Lisa said about how she has used the product:" “I have coloured the frame with glitter glues that complimented the scenery in the Santa photo. Before adhering to the base, I have attached decorative lace, and wrapped a string of pearls around the chipboard.”

Flourish

Hi Susan here…

For my blog post this week I wanted to showcase this gorgeous Flourish 10 C183… it actually looks like this …but I have snipped the large swirl off and used it at the top of my flowers… a quick spritz with graphite Glimmer Mist and it is ready for my page… I have also used the WOW Alphabet and coloured them with purple Glimmer Mist to coordinate with my stamped butterflies that have also been ink-washed with the purple Glimmer Mist. image

Hiya all, San here.

Chipboard...now I love it, the feel, the smell, the way you can manipulate it to fit a page and also the different techniques you can use to alter it.
But I hear all the time of people who arent too sure how to use it.
Here on the WOW blog...we get to see so many awesome technqiues to use on our chipboard, some simple, some difficult and some down right scarey! lol

We dont want you to be frightened of using chipboard on your projects, so on todays post, I am showing you some simple ways to alter it for effect.

This page is of a very special moment at our house, a visit from a white owl in our backyard. He sat up there, waited until I got my camera and almost posed for me.

On this page I have used the WOW circle from the Circle Set, (my favourite chipboard ever), circles can make your eye look at the photo it surrounds, it is also a very useful shape when you are scrapping boys!.
On this circle, I have simply inked it with Tim Holtz vintage photo ink and then added some small dots with dimentional paint, then when its dry...re-inked the circle.

Simpe, yet effective!

The leaf vine has been altered using oil pastels, these can be bought at the local art shops, just colour your leaves in, I have used 2 different greens and then using an awl ( pointy stick)..i then added the leaf veins. You can then cover the lot with papertole gloss.

This layout was a sketch challenge at Storybooks retreat last month, I am a stickler for exact when it comes to sketches, hence the 'storyboard kits copyright' lol

short, yet sweet....go on to your LSS...grab yourself some WOW and have a play with some different techniques, share them with us on our Facebook page or email them to Suzanne at WOW...We love to see how our chipboard get used.

Til next time.....happy scrapping all x

Here is Lisa’s Layout using "I love you infinity" RWL232; Vine set RWL367

This is what she has to say about it:" “I have coated the chip title in two different colours, defining the area to colour first with a craft knife to ensure the colours didn't bleed together. The vine set has been spritzed with white mist.”

love youlove you1

Monique has this beauty for us this week, She has use one of the new ALTAMATZ “Zebra Stripes ALTA007”, to create the background for this layout
