Tess's Week - 'Monument Valley'

Hi WOW blog readers, Tess here. Its day 2 of my week on the blog. Today I have a very clean layout for you and idea for altering your light wood veneer.

Monument Valley
Using light wood veneer Mini Filmstrips (WV011) and light wood veneer Narrow Arrow Pack (WV018)

I have coated the mini filmstrip with a layer of glitter glue to give the green colouring. It looks great with the raw veneer colouring underneath.

I love the light wood veneer 'al naturale' so have left the arrows exactly that way. I love the arrows and could use these on just about everything. They are a staple in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by. I really hope you are liking the what you are seeing so far this week. We have another few days to go and I have more pages to show!

Remember, Words or Whatever products are available from these stores. If your local scrap store isn't stocking it, please ask them to get some in.

Tess's Week - 'New Toy'

Hi WOW blog followers. Welcome to a week with Tess! As we have a long weekend here in NSW I have been working on a few pieces to show and a technique or two that you may not have used of played with.

Todays post is all about NAIL POLISH. Yes you did read that correctly. How many of us buy cheep and nasty nail polish for a random colour that we wear once and never use again? Well here is a solution to that will both use up that stash and help with your colour choices on your chipboard and veneer items.

NOTE: Please use nail polish in a well ventilated area.

New Toy
Using light wood veneer Brush Hearts (WV037), light wood veneer 'Love' title (WV023) and light wood veneer Heart Icon (WV027)

I love the pink, teal and yellow colour combination at the moment and this page is no exception. Most of the page elements are pink or teal so to bring through the yellow I have used a light yellow shade of nail polish to coat the wood veneer pieces.

I love the fact that it gives the veneer that gloss look with very little effort and the nail polish brush is fine enough to get into those little areas and still keep all of the detail, such as the 'Love' title.

I have also used a heat gun on the nail polish in the past to get a textured effect. It will bubble under the heat but still dry relatively flat but with a bumpy surface rather than the smooth flat gloss.

The colour choices are endless and the light wood veneer takes to colour exceptionally well. I have used this on many pages and love the effect!

Thanks for dropping past. I will be back tomorrow with another share.

A Day with Sue - 'Remember'

Hello again bloggers and WOW fans. Just a quick share from me today with a layout I made doing a blind scrap. I didn't think I would like it when I first started, but in the end I was quite happy with how it turned out.
The blind scrap recipe specified the use of 5 different patterned papers, so I decided to go for an almost monochromatic look using some gorgeous Fancy Pants papers I had been squirrelling away for some time.

The stitching and the twine (which echos the stripe in my daughter's dress) helped to bring the layout together. And finally the WOW chipboard title 'Remember' which I coloured lightly with the same distress stain and mist I used in the background.

Thanks for popping by the blog today....hope you liked my layout. Be sure to check back in next week when Tess takes over the blog for the entire week....she always has some amazing creations to share and inspire.

Together

Hello everyone, Its Kim here today I am going to share with you a layout that I created using the Altawords 6" size. I love these words and the font is just beautiful so i did not want to use the word as a stencil but as the word its self so I took a black sharpie and coloured the back of the word in now this would work with any colour of sharpie. Then placed it on my LO and spray it with cold mists and wow I think it looks awesome

This is my completed LO and the Altaword I used

I do hope you liked my share with you today

A Day with Tess - 'Not all who wander are lost'

Happy Monday to all our Words or Whatever followers, Tess here today. I don't know about you, but this year is flying past and it will be Christmas before we know it. For us in Australia, the temperatures are starting to heat up and it's looking to be a long hot summer.
I had a bit of fun piecing this one together and couldn't wait to share it.

Not all who wander are lost
Using Chipboard Small Birdcages (WOW1541) and Chipboard Mini Clouds (WOW1931)

The Words or Whatever items on this page are go to items in my stash. I just love the birdcage and how detailed it is. They have been misted with a white mist, then layered with a white glitter, just to give them a bit extra. Unfortunately in these photos you cant see the glitter, but I can promise you it is there (and all over my scrap space!).

I have always loved the subtle effect of white on white. It just makes some layouts complete.

Well thanks for stopping by. There will be more get pages to share this week from some of the other gorgeous DT girls. Make sure you come back and check them out.

Don't forget, it you love the Words or Whatever items you see, contact your scrap supplier and get them to order some for you. You will love them!

A day with Kerryn - Always radiate sunshine

Good morning everyone, it's my turn to entertain you today with some WOW inspiration.

I was also lucky enough to join Sue, Tess and Sandra on the weekend for what was an amazing retreat, loads of talent in one room and plenty of WOW around the place. I did manage of few pages, but I think this one was pretty close to being my favourite.

This page was include in one of a trillion challenges that were set for us, maybe I am exaggerating a little :)
It was to include the bottle top on your page.

I have used Wood Veneer Mini Butterflies and the small chipboard Loopy Doily

The butterflies have been roughly covered with turquoise Stickles for a translucent effect, so the wood clearly appears through the Stickles.

The loopy doily was covered with Versa charcoal ink as a base and then small parts of the doily were highlighted with metallic rub.

That is all for now. Remember there are only a few more days left to enter this month's challenge which is simply 'Use your WOW' on a page. Too easy peoples, hope to see loads of entries!

Enjoy your day, finally some sunshine here to soak up.
