april 8 - Tarrah

Hi all...

Tarrah back with you again today..all month we are running a sketch challenge and all the DT's work is based on this top sketch as well....

For this layout, in my mind, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left so the focal point of the layout is on the bottom left corner with a little detail in the top right corner...

 WOW products used

*New Release* Flourish Tree
*New Release* Flourish 'Love' Title

I applied Gesso to both of these chipboard pieces for a subtle effect that suits my layout theme...thank you for stopping by the WOW blog today...we hope you are enjoying our inspiration based on the sketch this month....to enter you can simply email your entries to challenges@websterenterprises.com.au or upload to the WOW Facebook page here :)

april 5 - Kerryn otp

Hello there, Kerryn here to share my take on the WOW Off-the-Page 'Family' frame we were sent to play with!

I had so much fun decorating this frame.
I started with a good base coat of gesso and then experimented with layers of metallic ink and different colours of embossing powder. Once I was happy with the overall look of the frame I added a few touches of bronze Stickles and a coat of Glossy Accent to the words Family.

I have also used a few extra WOW pieces to finish off the frame

The word 'Our' from Our Prince
New Love Title
New Corners & Flourishes

April 4 - Tess

Hi WOW world, Tess here today to show how easy it is to alter an OTP.
When I received the Family frame, I spent a lot of time thinking over how best to show this one off. And I came to the conclusion, not to over think it, keep it simple... So here it is!

I have simply covered the top layer of the MDF frame with a patterned paper. Be sure to glue this down well.
I then cut and filed out all of the gaps on the frame so that the paper was no longer covering it.
I outlined the 'Family' letters with a white gel pen and added a couple of embellishments. I didn't want to over do it, especially knowing that the papers were very dark and busy.
I loved that I could put all of these photos of our gorgeous nieces and nephews (and glad that there is 6 of them in total so that it filled all of the holes in the frame).
I hope I have inspired you, even just a little bit, to give an OTP frame a go. There are a few different types that WOW cut, all of which are available through your local scrap store.
Be sure to keep checking back this month to keep an eye on the new releases and how the DT worked with the challenge sketch for every single post in April. Also, make sure you upload your take on the sketch (with some added WOW) and you could win a full set of the April releases.

April 3 - Tarrah OTP

Hi everyone...

Tarrah here with you today sharing my version of the WOW Off-the-Page 'Family' frame we were all sent to play with!

I decided to stick to my style and kept mine fairly plain and simple.....I firstly painted it with gesso so that any paint I later used would absorb well....I next applied two coats of Antique White paint...added some patterned paper to two of the slots and then adhered some of my favourite WOW wood veneer pieces..

Mini Banner
 Love and Laugh Words
Heart Arrow

I haven't added any photos to mine as I am going to gift this to my brother and sister in law...I know it will go with their home decor very nicely...hopefully they will like it!!

Thanks for stopping by the WOW blog today...be sure to check back each day this week to see all the DT's interpretation of their 'Family' frame.

April 2nd - San

hi there, San here

Are you all ready for Challenge month at WOW!

Here is my take on the 'family' frame that is the WOW dt challenge for April. This week, you will see what the rest of the dt have done with the frame.
Then follow the month, where the whole dt will be showing you layouts all based on the sketch challenge....this will be fun!

I have kept it rather simple, as I am such a big fan of raw. I have added some random texture paste with metal embossing powder sprinkled on it, then heated to give it a melted look.
Then use Tim Holtz vintage photo ink to add some depth to the frame.

Then a long stem of leaves wound about before sticking the 2 parts of the frame together. flowers, jute bow and a pin.

This frame will be going to my mum, I haven't added photos yet, as we are off on holidays now and will put some of our trip in It for her. I love the PL title card, so I am leaving that for the extra photo space.

Remember you can get your lss to order this awesome frame for you now......what a wonderful gift, especially with Mothers Day on the way.

Pop back this week to check what the other girls have done with theirs.

...............& don't forget to enter the sketch challenge.
