I'm so excited to be sharing with you all my first blog post here at WOW. I got some fantastic chipboard in my DT kit and have been hard at work bringing it all together to create this fantastic boy themed set of cards.
I have used the Boy Card Pack and some of the smaller frames from the 12 x 12 Cog Frame Set along with some flamed wings to create this set of 4 cards.
I will show you each card individually and also a close up to show how I have used and decorated the chipboard.
For 100% boy I used a set of flames and one of the smallest cogs. I inlaid the cog with patterned paper and then mounted the skull in the centre.
The 100% boy word is coloured with Twinkling H2O's and then highlighted with silver gel pen. the wings are inked in silver and the cog and skull are coloured with black texta and a white gel pen to highlight the engraving. I love the effect this achieves and how you can really highlight that tiny detail with this technique.
You Rock uses another set of flames, a bigger cog and the wording from the boy card pack. You will notice this time that I have used the negative cog element ..... no waste here! ;)
Again I've used a combo of Twinkling H2O's, gel pens and ink to colour the chipboard.
Next is my favourite of the set, probably cause my 4 yr old loves it too, he told me "good job on your pictures mummy, good job" :D right after he told me that the skull was "too scary".
Again both positive and negative cog shapes but this time I have used them as frames and cut away the card front from inside to make windows.
I then ran some ribbon across the gaps and stuck my chipboard so that it looked like the star was in the sky and the rocket flying.
A close up of my "flying" rocket which is painted with H2O's and highlighted with texta and gel pens.
For my last card I had this cute little robot left and I just couldn't bare to leave him unused.
By teaming him up with a few more cogs I had this great all occasion card for a little boy.
A close up of that cute little robot to show off the detail.
Well that's all for today. I hope you like my set of boy themed cards and in some way I have inspired you to dig out your WOW and create.
If bloggers playing nicely, leave me a comment to let me know you were here.
Till next time,
Happy Creating
Amanda :)
